Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Skindex account and platform-held personal data. This page explains what Skindex can delete, what records may need to be retained, and how to submit a verified request.

Account deletion is permanent for platform-held data and cannot be undone. Once processed, data Skindex is able to delete under the applicable process cannot be recovered. Provider-held professional records and limited records subject to lawful retention may remain. Export your data before submitting this request.
Disconnecting vs. deleting: If you only want to end your client-esthetician relationship without closing your account, you can disconnect from a practice inside the app (Settings → My Practice → Disconnect). Disconnecting removes the active portal link but does not delete your account or records. Account deletion does not automatically erase records a Provider must retain under professional, legal, security, dispute-resolution, or backup-retention obligations.

Cancel your subscription first (if applicable)

If you have an active Skindex premium subscription, cancel it before or immediately after deleting your account. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Apple or Google subscription. To cancel on iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Skindex → Cancel Subscription. If you do not cancel, you may continue to be billed.

Export your data (optional)

Download a copy of your records before requesting deletion. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. Visit skindex.app/privacy-controls and submit a "Download My Data" request. We will prepare your export within 30 days.

Delete in the app (preferred) or request by email

Signed-in users should use the in-app flow so deletion runs against your authenticated session. See the in-app instructions below. If the in-app flow fails, submit a request by email.

If the in-app flow fails, email support@skindex.app or theskindexapp@gmail.com from your account email with subject "Account Deletion Request".

What is deleted vs. what may be retained?

Platform-held data deleted through the applicable process

  • Account profile and login credentials
  • In-app messages and chat history
  • Platform-held progress photos and Face Map media
  • Platform-held treatment notes, care plans, and visit records
  • Platform-held client intake and health history notes
  • Appointment records and scheduling data
  • Client-esthetician connection links
  • Push notification tokens

May be retained

  • Billing and financial transaction records (up to 7 years — US tax law)
  • Esthetician verification records (fraud prevention and regulatory compliance)
  • Anonymized aggregate analytics (not linked to your identity)
  • Data subject to an active legal hold or governmental request
  • Provider-held professional records where retention is required
  • Secure backup copies while they complete their normal rotation
  • Records needed for security investigations or dispute resolution

Request Account Deletion

We verify your identity before processing

Send an email to the address below with the subject line Account Deletion Request. Include the following in your message:

  • Full name as it appears on your account
  • Email address associated with your Skindex account
  • Your role: Client or Esthetician
  • Confirmation that you understand deletion is permanent and cannot be undone

We acknowledge requests within 3 business days and process verified deletions within 30 days.
