Skindex for Estheticians

Skindex is an iOS professional skincare workflow and decision-support platform. Currently in its pre-launch/waitlist phase, it combines client intake, records, treatment tracking, Face Map, Skin Snapshot, scheduling, secure record transfers, and professional workflow tools into a single application.

Skindex is built for licensed estheticians and the clients who connect with them through the platform. It is not intended for direct-to-consumer medical diagnostics or general salon management.

Skindex is designed to consolidate fragmented esthetician workflows. It brings client intake, records, treatment tracking, scheduling, and professional-to-client workflow tools into one platform designed around an esthetician's practice.

No. Skindex does not claim universal HIPAA certification or that every deployment is HIPAA compliant. Any Business Associate Agreement (BAA) or practice agreement, if separately offered or signed, applies only to its stated parties and scope.

Because esthetics is generally not a HIPAA-covered healthcare specialty under US federal law, licensed estheticians are typically not considered covered entities. Professionals operating in medical contexts (such as supervised medspas) must consult legal counsel to assess their specific compliance obligations.

Face Map is optional and Provider-initiated. A Client must separately opt in before a Provider may capture, upload, or process Face Map photos or related observational signals through Skindex; general data consent does not authorize Face Map. When enabled, photos may be stored in private, relationship-scoped Skindex infrastructure with related protected records. Face Map is not used for identity recognition, identity matching, surveillance, advertising, public model training, medical diagnosis, or treatment. In the current production flow, Face Map photos are not sent to OpenAI, RevenueCat, or Sentry.

Consent and records are role-specific. Face Map requires a separate Client opt-in and does not replace the Provider's obligation to explain the feature and obtain any professional or legally required consent. Access is strictly role-scoped at both the application and database layer:

• Professionals can only access records for clients who have connected via their specific practice code and whose request the Professional has approved.
• Clients can only view information and records explicitly assigned or shared by their connected Professional.

AI Assist uses structured account records (such as intake forms, profile history, visit history, session notes, and Skin Snapshot structured data) — it never uses raw images. It generates decision-support outputs that require human review; no output is applied automatically. Client care data is not used to train public foundation models for third parties.
